Peak Performance Blood Testing
Understand Your Body. Optimise Your Recovery.Prevent Problems.
Ever wondered why you’re constantly exhausted despite sleeping well? Or why your recovery from training feels sluggish? Sometimes the answer isn’t something you can feel—it’s something you need to measure. That’s where our Blood Diagnostic testing comes in.
Why Do I Need Blood Diagnostics?
Think of blood testing as the MOT for your internal health. Much like a car needs regular servicing to run smoothly, your body needs proper investigation to catch issues before they compound into bigger problems. Your blood tells a complete story—one that clinical examinations and even the NHS often miss. We look at the markers that matter for performance, recovery, and long-term health.
*The reality: Many people are chronically deficient in vitamins, minerals, and hormones without even knowing it. That fatigue, poor recovery, stubborn weight, mood dips, or recurring injuries? Often traceable to something measurable in your blood.
What is Blood Diagnostics? How Does It Work?
Our Blood Diagnostic service offers comprehensive blood testing tailored to your specific needs and goals. This isn’t a generic screening—we work with you to identify exactly what you need to know.
The process is simple:
- Initial Consultation – We discuss your health goals, symptoms, lifestyle, and concerns to recommend the right tests for you.
- Blood Collection – Our experienced phlebotomist takes samples in a comfortable, professional setting (5–10 minutes).
- Lab Analysis – Your samples are analysed by our trusted laboratory partner with results back within 3–5 working days.
- Results Consultation – We review your results with you, explain what they mean, and create a personalised action plan.
Whether you’re tracking recovery, investigating fatigue, optimising performance, or just want a baseline health check—we customise the approach to fit your needs.
Who is Blood Diagnostics For?
Blood Diagnostics is ideal if you:
- Are an athlete or active person looking to optimise recovery and performance
- Feel constantly exhausted despite good sleep and are desperate to know why
- Have recurring injuries and want to understand underlying factors (vitamin D, magnesium, inflammation levels)
- Are experiencing unexplained weight changes or struggling to lose weight
- Have mood swings, brain fog, or low motivation that seems off
- Are in perimenopause or menopause and want a full hormonal picture
- Are struggling with fertility and want comprehensive hormone assessment
- Want a proactive health baseline before they become problems
- Have been told your results are “normal” by the NHS but you still don’t feel right
- Are managing a chronic condition and want better insight into nutritional status
Who is a Blood Diagnostics NOT For?
Blood Diagnostics is not a substitute for emergency medical care. If you have acute symptoms (severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, etc.), please see your GP or call 999.
Additionally, if you’re looking for basic NHS-covered blood work (which your GP provides free), we can still offer this privately with our own insights and personalised follow-up—though we’d recommend checking with your GP first in these cases.
Why is Blood Diagnostics SO Important?
The problem: Standard NHS screening often misses the nuances. Your GP might tell you your thyroid is “normal” when it’s actually sub-optimal for your performance. Your iron might be “acceptable” when you’re running on fumes for athletic performance.
The bigger picture: Your blood is the window to your internal world. Chronic fatigue, poor recovery, hormonal chaos, persistent infections, brain fog, mood issues—they all have traceable causes. Often, simple nutritional or hormonal intervention makes a transformative difference.
Early detection saves time: Identify issues at the root level before they develop into bigger problems (stress fractures, burnout, chronic illness, hormonal dysfunction).
Personalised medicine works: One-size-fits-all approaches don’t. Understanding your unique biochemistry means targeted, effective interventions.
What Happens During Your Blood Diagnostic Assessment?
Your Blood Diagnostic appointment is designed to be straightforward and comfortable:
1. Confidential Consultation (10 minutes)
We start by understanding you:
- Your health goals and what you’re trying to achieve
- Current symptoms (fatigue, poor recovery, mood, weight changes, etc.)
- Lifestyle factors (training intensity, sleep, stress, diet)
- Medical history and any current medications
- Family history of relevant conditions
This conversation guides everything—we’re not testing random markers, we’re testing what matters to you.
2. Vital Signs Baseline (5 minutes)
We take standard markers:
- Blood Pressure – cardiovascular health
- Heart Rate & Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) – heart and lung function
- Height & Weight – establishing your baseline
These give us important context for interpreting your blood results.
3. Blood Collection (5 minutes)
Our experienced phlebotomist takes blood samples professionally and comfortably. You might feel a slight pinch, but most people tolerate it very well. We use appropriate needle gauges for ease of collection, and if you have difficult veins, we have specialist techniques to make the process simple.
Samples are labelled and prepared immediately for transport to our trusted laboratory partner.
4. Results Consultation (20–30 minutes, usually a separate appointment)
Once your results are back (3–5 working days), we invite you back to review them in detail. We:
- Explain what each marker means in plain English (not medical jargon)
- Compare your results to optimal ranges (not just “normal” ranges)
- Identify any deficiencies, imbalances, or areas of concern
- Create a personalised action plan tailored to your goals
This might include supplementation recommendations, dietary changes, lifestyle modifications, or further investigations with your GP if needed
What Will You Get from Blood Diagnostics?
After your assessment and results consultation, you’ll receive:
- Detailed Results Report – All your markers explained in plain language, with optimal ranges highlighted
- Personalised Action Plan – Specific recommendations based on your results, not generic advice
- Follow-up Support – We can recommend supplementation, dietary tweaks, or referrals to our dietitian (pending) or GP.
- Ongoing Tracking – We recommend repeat testing at intervals (usually 8–12 weeks) to measure progress and adjust your plan
- Integration with Your Care – Results feed into your physio treatment plan, GP consultations, or any other healthcare you’re receiving with us

How Blood Diagnostics Link to Your GX Physio Care
This is the clever bit. Blood testing doesn’t exist in isolation—it feeds directly into your physio treatment, gym-based rehab, GP consultations, and nutrition coaching.
For Physio Patients:
- Poor recovery? → Test vitamin D, iron, magnesium, CRP
- Slow-healing injury? → Look at inflammation markers and nutritional status
- Can’t build strength despite training? → Testosterone, vitamin D, B12
- Fatigue affecting your rehab? → Thyroid, B12, iron (the “tired quartet”)
For Athletes & Sports Performance:
- Training plateau? → Iron, vitamin D, testosterone, cortisol
- Overtraining concerns? → CRP, cortisol, testosterone
- Recurring injuries? → Vitamin D, magnesium, inflammation markers
For Weight Management & Wellness:
- Struggling to lose weight? → HbA1c, thyroid, testosterone
- Fatigue? → Iron, thyroid, B12, vitamin D
- Women’s health issues? → Full hormone panel + nutritional assessment
- Are these tests available to anyone, or only existing GX patients?
Both. We welcome new patients for blood testing. It’s a great entry point to understand your health and often leads to physio or GP consultations for follow-up support. But existing patients get priority booking. - How long do results take?
Most results are back within 3–5 working days. We’ll contact you to book your results consultation (either in person or by phone, your choice). - What if my results show something concerning?
That’s exactly what we’re here for. If results indicate something that needs medical attention (abnormal thyroid, for example), we discuss next steps, which might include:- Referral to our in-house GP
- GP referral to an NHS specialist
- Recommendations for lifestyle change or supplementation
- More detailed testing if needed
You’ll never be left wondering what to do next.
- Can I get these tests through the NHS instead?
Potentially, yes—your GP can order some of these. But the NHS often does basic screening rather than the detailed, performance-focused assessment we offer. Plus, our interpretation is detailed and our follow-up personalised. Many patients choose private testing because:- NHS waiting lists are long
- They often only test TSH (not full thyroid)
- The appointment time is limited
- Follow-up support is minimal
We offer speed, depth, and a complete care pathway.
- Can I fast before my test, or does it matter?
For most tests, it doesn’t matter. For some (lipid panel, glucose testing), fasting gives the cleanest results. We’ll advise when you book. - What should I do with my results?
That’s what your consultation is for. We explain them, identify patterns, and create a plan. This might be:- Simple supplementation (iron, vitamin D, etc.)
- Dietary changes
- Lifestyle tweaks
- GP referral for medication if needed
- Repeat testing in 8–12 weeks to measure progress
You’re never left with numbers and no direction.
- Can I get repeat testing later?
Absolutely. In fact, we recommend it. Testing again 8–12 weeks after starting supplements or lifestyle changes shows whether your interventions are working. À la carte testing is perfect for this.
