Full Body MOT

Why Do I Need a Full Body MOT?

Much like a car, we need regular maintenance and fine calibrations to ensure imbalances are worked out and not compounding into bigger issues.

What is a Full Body MOT? How Does It Work?

  1. A comprehensive screening to assess range of motion, strength, balance, mobility.
  2. It provides objective measures to identify potential weaknesses and prevent future health issues.
  3. You will receive a personalised plan based on the Full Body MOT Check Assessment to address any concerns early on.
    1. Optional: Vital sign can also be assessed to bring greater clarity, such as;
      1. heart rate
      2. oxygen saturations
      3. blood pressure
      4. height
      5. weight

This Full Body MOT Check is instrumental in preventing small issues compounding into larger ones, making imbalances more significant and injury more likely.

To give you the best chance of having optimal health, inclusive of strength, flexibility, balance, and free from injury – book a Full Body MOT Check with one of our Specialist Practitioners today.

Who is a Full Body MOT For?

  1. You are about to embark on a Physical Challenge and want to ensure they have the right foundations.
  2. You would like to have a Health Check but don’t feel that you need blood tests and the like.
  3. You have a niggling ache, annual occurrence of the same problem, or sense of imbalance in your body.

Who is a Full Body MOT NOT For?

1. You have an active injury that needs direct attention. Please instead book in for a Physiotherapy or Sports Injury Consultation for addressing this specifically. Or of course, see your GP if a more serious condition.

Why is a Full Body MOT SO Important?

  1. 30-35% of GP appointments are for bodily injuries or niggles that then go on to cause injury, and can lead to mental and emotional ill health.
  2. The Full Body MOT Check looks at the whole body, assessing strength, flexibility and mobility to nip any small issues in the bud.
  3. The Service element of the premium MOT + Service works to address the issues highlighted.

What Happens During a Full Body MOT Check?

Your Full Body MOT session involves a series of assessments to evaluate your overall physical condition:

1. Vital Signs Check

  • Blood Pressure: To ensure your cardiovascular health is optimal.
  • Heart Rate and Oxygen Saturation (SpO2): To assess your heart and lung function.
  • Height and Weight: To monitor any significant changes in body composition.

2. Body & Postural Analysis

  • Posture Check: We’ll assess your posture to identify any misalignments or compensations that could lead to pain or discomfort.
  • Gait Analysis: We evaluate how you move when walking or running to spot any inefficiencies that could increase the risk of injury.

3. Movement Testing

  • Range of Motion (ROM): We assess your flexibility and joint movement to spot areas that may be limiting your range and contributing to tightness or discomfort.
  • Strength Testing: We measure the strength of key muscles in your body using dynamometric testing and other assessments to identify imbalances that could increase the risk of injury.
  • Flexibility Tests: Including sit and reach, straight leg raise, and knee-to-wall tests to assess flexibility in key areas like your hamstrings, calves, and hips.

4. Strength and Endurance Testing

  • Press-up and Sit-up Tests: To measure muscular endurance.
  • Body Weight Squat Test: To assess your lower body strength and endurance.
  • Single-Hop and Triple-Hop Tests: To test lower body power and coordination.

5. Coordination and Balance Testing

  • Ruler Drop Test: To assess hand-eye coordination and reflexes.
  • Stork Test: To evaluate balance and stability, helping to pinpoint any issues with your overall coordination.

6. Cardiovascular Testing

  • Depending on your goals, you may also perform a 6-minute walk test, 1-mile run test, or 500-meter rowing testto assess your cardiovascular endurance.

What Will You Get from a Full Body MOT Check?

After completing the assessments, you’ll receive a personalised action plan designed to address any concerns identified during the MOT. This could include exercises, stretches, lifestyle changes, or advice on posture and movement to improve your overall well-being. The goal is to ensure that you’re taking proactive steps to maintain a healthy body and prevent injuries before they occur.
