Chris is a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) specialist with over 15 years of clinical experience. He joins the GX Physio team to provide specialized psychological support for clients managing physical health challenges, chronic pain, and sports injuries.

His expertise lies in helping individuals navigate the complex emotional impact of long-term health conditions, supporting them to reclaim fulfilling lives alongside physical challenges. Chris specializes in evidence-based approaches that complement physiotherapy, creating a truly holistic treatment experience for GX Physio clients.

Previously, Chris led specialist therapy programmes in the NHS for long-term conditions and has developed innovative applications of ACT specifically tailored to chronic pain management. His approach focuses on helping you cultivate psychological flexibility, manage difficult thoughts and emotions related to injury, and stay committed to meaningful activities despite physical limitations.

Chris delivers therapy through secure online sessions, making his services accessible to you regardless of your location or mobility constraints. This virtual approach allows for flexible scheduling and comfortable sessions from your own environment, which can be particularly beneficial if you’re managing ongoing pain or physical limitations.

He is passionate about collaborative care and works closely with our physiotherapy team to ensure comprehensive treatment that addresses both physical and psychological aspects of your recovery.

When not supporting clients, Chris enjoys trail running and cycling, finding that these activities not only maintain his physical wellbeing but also provide opportunities for mindfulness and connection with nature. He is a firm believer in practicing what he preaches regarding values-based living and work-life balance.
